<br />o <br />I-" <br />en <br />C)l <br /> <br />TRANSMITTAL LETTERS <br /> <br />Section 303 of the Clean Water Act requires that at least once every three years the states of <br />the Colorado River Basin review water quality standards relating to the salinity ofthe waters of the <br />Colorado River. The states collectively initiate this review under the auspices of the Colorado River <br />Basin Salinity Control Forum and prepare a report and, after holding public meetings, prepare a <br />supplemental report. <br /> <br />Upon the Forum's adoption ofthese two reports, they are transmitted to the individual states <br />for their own independent action. The following is an example copy of the transmittal letter to the <br />Governor ofthe State of Arizona.
