Specific
acreages of land were determined by a general inspection of
the area with reference to 8 inch to the mile topographic maps
and aerial photographs. Some information was obtained from
field notes of appraisals I have made of several of the ranches
in the area.

I divided the land into three broad classifications. I
designated all Irrigated Hay, Crop and Pasture land as Class I;
all Dry Cropland and Reseeded Pasture as Class II; and all Native'
Range as Class III land. Since this study was made primarily to
determine the grazing resources of the project area before and
after construction no estimates of crop and hay production were
made. The carrying capacity rates used by the Bureau of.Land
Management were assigned to the various types of pasture and
native range.

I have summarized my analysis of the area in the following
brief schedules:

YELLOW JACKET PROJECT AREA ANALYSIS

Total Acres Within PerimeEr Canals:

Acres
(Deeded)---------------_________ 62,840

Public Domain----------------___ 1;560

Local Government--------________ 600
Total acres_-__ 65,000

I.:'
l

I:.

Land to be Irrigated by Project:
(White River Basin only)

CIass I: Presently .Irrigated-------------

Acres

Class II: Dry Crop-Reseeded Pasture------

2,000
8,230
7,510
17,740

Class III: Native Range-----------------
Total acres---

PER CENT OF PROJECT LANDS TO TOTAL AREA WITHIN PERIMETER.
