Title of project: Availability of habitat characteristics and
use of spring habitats for Colorado squawfish and razorback
sucker in the Green River.

III. Study Goals, Objectives, and End Products (as described in the
approved scope of work):

1.. Determine the relationship between habitat availability,
fish, accessibility, and fish use in seasonally flooded
bottoms in the Upper Green River for use in developing
instream flow methods and recommendations.

2. Determine the differences in survival and growth of
larval and juvenile razorback suckers in spring.

3. Recommend flows that would provide some flOOding of
seasonally flooded lands, and thus provide habitats for
Colorado squawfish and razorback sucker in the Ouray area
of the Green River.

4. Evaluate the frequency, duration within the year, and
type of water year (average, low, or high)

VII. How is this study contributing towards recovery? Are the
goals being met? (Please describe in your own words):

Many biologists believe that flooded bottomlands are important
habitats for both early and adult life stages of the razorback
sucker. This support has resulted in efforts directed toward
purchasing seasonally flooded wetlands to restore nursery and
adult habitats. This project is directed toward defining what
