The <br /> <br />only possible source will be seepage into <br /> <br />the ground from the evaporation pond, but <br /> <br />this will be minimized by the impermeable <br /> <br />lining of the pond. Non-process waters, <br /> <br />such as roof drains and other surface <br /> <br />runoffs (not including coal storage <br /> <br />areas or evaporation ponds), will be <br /> <br />routed into a storm drain system and <br /> <br />discharged into the Yampa River. The <br /> <br />Yampa River will be monitored continu- <br /> <br />ously to ensure that no harmful substances <br /> <br />are discharged inadvertently into the <br />river. The proposed project will comply <br /> <br />" <br />with all applicable Federal and State water <br /> <br />quality standards. <br /> <br />The consumptive use of approximately 13,170 <br /> <br />acre-feet per year of water from the Yampa <br /> <br />River amounts to approximately 1.2 percent <br /> <br />of the average annual water flow measured <br /> <br />over the past 55 years. This withdrawal <br /> <br />will reduce the dilutive capacity of the <br /> <br />river so that the salinity will increase <br /> <br />less than one ppm at Maybell which is 30 <br /> <br />miles downstream from the proposed site. <br /> <br />-135- <br />
