The panel will review the comments and feedback from the meeting and <br />prepare a final report to be delivered to the Steering Committee in January 2003. <br /> <br />WATER QUALITY <br /> <br />Atlas Mine Tailinl!slMoab. Utah <br /> <br />On November 19th, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced it will begin the <br />National Environmental Policy Act (NEP A) process to decide what to do with the Atlas uranium mill <br />tailings pile located approximately three miles outside Moab, Utah. The project site was legislatively <br />transferred to DOE from the bankruptcy court with the stipulation of remediating the mill tailings. <br />The Grand Junction Office of DOE will be issuing a Notice of Intent, to begin the NEPA process, <br />in late December 2002 or January 2003.
