It also
:B4tlines the work procedures developed by the Arkansas-White-Red
, ~~~s~s Inter-Agency Committee in order to accomplish the objectives
:of this section.

Chapter III - Investigations

'3. This chapter presents in considerable detail the in-
vestigations which were made in'determining the ~droelectric poten-
tialities of the AWR Basins. The use of prior surveys and reports
in developing the plan is reviewed and a synopsis is given of the
information presented at public, hearings held in connection uith
studies of the ~dro potentialities of the basins. The results of a
survey of hydro power potentialities in the basins are outlined and
show that pertinent data were procured on approximately 60 existing
and potential ~dro projects with installations of 100 kw or over.

4. The paragraph on investigations of ~droelectric poten_
tialities delineates the criteria by 'Ihich the power aspects of pre-
viously proposed and new hydro projects Were reappraised to determine
economic necessity, feasibility, functional adequacy, hydraulic
(insofar as possible) and electrical coordination in relation to
project design, operation, and ,cost. A general discussion is pre-
sented on the future development of the hydro potentialities of the
basins, particularly in regard to the means, responsibilitios, and
procedures whereby the projects could be constructed in compliance
lfith, existing Federal and State water lalis.

1
