The 1930-40 deCade <br />shows a materially greater increase than the two preceding deoades. <br /> <br />Some further light oan be shed on the growth of population in <br />the area from a study of county tctals. Using these figures. hOl\9ver, <br />it must be remembered that Montrose and Delta Counties oaver areas of <br />considerable size outside cf the basin. The populations of Nontrose <br />County outside the basin are not large. being fcund chiefly in the small <br />cormnunities of Cimarron, Nucla, Naturita. Paradox. Uranium and Naher. <br />Delta County en the ather hand embraces the fruit growing areas of the <br />North Fork of the Gunnison region in which is looated the tcwns of <br />Pe.onia. Hctchkiss and Cedaredge.
