Releases are being made at this level so that
a target flow of 1800'cfs will be achieved on the Green River near
Jensen, Ut. Jensen is below the confluence of the Green and Yampa
Rivers. This flow level (1800 cfs) is being targeted in the
attempt to optimize backwater habitats for young Colorado
Squawfish. Releases from Flaming Gorge will be adjusted throughout
September and October to maintain. the 1800 cfs target flow level.

Releases during the 1996-1997 winter period (November through
March) will likely average about 1900 cfs. Open forum discussions
on Flaming Gorge operations have been taking place at meetings of
the "Flaming Gorge Working Group". A Working Group meeting was
held August 2 in Heber, Ut. The next Working Group meeting is
scheduled for October 23 at 10 am in Vernal, Ut. For more
information on the Working Group, contact Ed Vidmar at
801-379-1000.
