'h'ild and Sceni c Ri vcr <br /> <br />Stucly for the Green and Yampa Rivers, i,ave been sche,luled by the Bureau <br /> <br />of Outdoor Recreation and the Colorado Departr1ent of Natural ReSDurC8S. <br /> <br />These agencies are responsible for leading the scudy of these norttn;estel'n <br /> <br />Colorado rivers. The study will be cOllcluctcd by a joint Federal-State study <br /> <br />team, including the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation,. Nat.cor.al Park Service, Fish <br /> <br />and Y1ildlif~ Service, Bureau of lteclaIr.atia~, Colorado De.partrr..ent of r~2tural <br /> <br />Resources; alld oth,,! Federal and State agencies. Participation by local and <br /> <br />regional organizations, citizens groups, and individuals will playa key role <br /> <br />in the study process. <br /> <br />The segments of these rivers to be studied were specified in a recent <br /> <br />amendment to the National Hild and Scenic l<iver Act ar,d include the Grecn <br />River within the State of Colorado and the Yampa River within the boundaries <br /> <br />of Dinosaur National j':O!1l11Uent. For the purpose of ip.creaseG efficiency these <br /> <br />rivers will be studied concun:ently. <br /> <br />The infurmation meetings will be used to explnin the requirements af <br /> <br />the recent aJ'!'Jui::ndmcllts to the Wild and Sc~nic Rivers ,\ct nnd to solicit puhlic <br /> <br />involvement in the, study eff(oj"t.
