Chatfield Hatchery - planting base - water

Exchange of water use between the City of
Thornton and the Division of Wildlife

Three miles south of Littleton, downstream
from the Chatfield Reservoir dam

To provide the Division's Chatfield Unit with
consumable water for augmentation or make up
water for evaporation losses.

Division to Thornton

1.5 c.f.s, of water in the Fehringer Ditch '2
in South Park on the Tomahawk Ranch and 20
shares (.55 c.f.s.) of water in the Fisher
Ditch at the Denver Headquarters.

Total water from the Division - 27.9 acre feet
for consumptive use.

Thornton to Division

Not more than 35 acre feet of consumable water
per year, delivered from Thornton's rights in
McClelland Reservoir or Chatfield Reservoir.

goals.

The Division Director and Staff recommend approval
of this agreement.

I move to entering into an exchange of water agreement
with the City of Thornton, The agreement shall allow the City of
Thornton to use the Division's water in the Fehringer Ditch (1.5
c.f.s.) and the Fisher Ditch (,55 c.f.s.) in exchange for the City
of Thornton allowing the Division to use up to 35 acre feet of water
per year which the City owns. The term of the agreement shall be
40 years.
