The dam would be about 4 mUe. up- <br />strea:m trom Tr1nid,ad, Colorado. <br /> <br />'PURPOSE <br /> <br />'2. The reservoir would serve the multiple purposes 01' 1'lood <br /> <br />oantrol, irrigation, and sediment storage. <br /> <br />ENGINEERING FEATURES <br /> <br />3. The major struotures at the site WQuld be an earthen dam <br /> <br />on the Purgatoire River. a spillway 1n the left abutment, and an <br />outlet 'Worlts '1n a tunnel under the left abut:ment.A 40-1'00t notoh <br /> <br />on the oenter line of the sl?1l1way would approximate the lower level <br />01' the flood oontrol pool. The dam would be 6,380 feet long 1n- <br />oluding the spillway seotion, with a maximum height above stream <br />bed 01' 208 feet. The unoontrolled, concrete spillway would be 450 <br />fe.t long with a disoharge capaoity 01' 173,500 seoond-1'eet at <br />maximum pool elevation.
