In g.neral, temperatures average somewhat lower
in sumaer and, higher in winter than for the more wind-
swept points to the east. Also, winter seasons are less
severe than ia the mouataine to the west. The frost-
freeperied ,averages longer than that of either the
plains or tbe lIountains. Rainfall during July and August,
whUe the "wettest" of the moaths, is relatively light,
comi.g typically in brief, infrequent showers or thunder-
storas, ofte. falling at a high rate of intensity. If the project .is authorized,
archeological and historical surveys should be made prior to
actual construction.

Present Recreational Value of Reservoir Site

Present recreational use of the reservoir site
is relatively very' slight. No indications of such use
were observed during the field inspection. Limited fish-
ing and hunting (uplandgaae) possib~y occur, but the

APPENDIX G
Exhibit No.1
Page ,11 of 24

i, "
._,1'" __'!-"",~_"........
