<br />The courtesy and assistance of all personnel in that Department <br />has been appreciated. <br /> <br />o U.S. Army Corps of Engineers which conducted separate and concurrent <br />studies of interstate water transfers under provisions of the legisla- <br />tion authorizing this Study. <br /> <br />o U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) which is carrying out a concurrent study <br />of the Ogallala Aquifer. The USGS has generously made the results of <br />its work available to the General Contractor. Maps prepared through <br />the USGS project are included as a part of this report. <br /> <br />o U,S. Fish and Wildlife Service has prepared and made available to the <br />General Contractor team an environmental impacts assessment report. <br />This report has been used extensively and has been very helpful in <br />Study activities. <br /> <br />o U.S, Department of Agriculture made available use of its National- <br />Inter-regional Agricultural Projections (NIRAP) model to project <br />various indications used in the Study, Advice and support by the <br />Department's personnel was appreciated, <br /> <br />The General Contractor has had the opportunity to consult with the <br />members of its Consulting Panel throughout the Study. The interest and spe- <br />cial contributions of these talented people has been of great benefit to the <br />Study and to the development of this report, <br /> <br />Finally, with gratitude, we want to recognize individually two very key <br />participants in the Study who tragically did not live to see its completion: <br /> <br />o Dr, Jean McFarland, Chief, Economics Research Division, Department <br />of Commerce. Dr. McFarland participated as the EDA member in the <br />High Plains Study Council. She added wisdom, knowledge and good <br />judgment to the Study effort. <br /> <br />viii <br />
