<br />PROJECT Pi'l.OGRAM <br /> <br />Stages of the Project <br /> <br />Stage I: <br />Initial reconnaissance. filing surveys, prelilninary 'studies <br />and design, and preliminary feasibility report. <br /> <br />Stage II: <br />Final deEign. initiation of court proceedings for water decrees. <br />initiation of negotiations for sale of power and water. definite <br />plan. ana feasibility report. <br /> <br />Stage III: <br />Construction of project and continuation of negotiations for <br />the sale of power and water. <br /> <br />Stage IV: <br />Operation and completion of court proceedings for water <br />decrees. <br /> <br />Project Schedule <br /> <br />Stage I is completed. Stage II will be completed in 1960. It is <br />planned to start Stage III in 1961 and complete it by June of 1964. <br />Stage IV would then start on this date. Water sales of 5. 000 acre- <br />feet or less could begin in 1962 if commitments for the sale of <br />water service warrant constructing Sweetwater Reservoir early <br />for this specific purpose. Plans for the early construction of this <br />feature wouid have to be complete by Tv'iayof 1961 in order to meet <br />the 1962 delivery date. <br /> <br />Work Completed <br /> <br />21('8 <br /> <br />Initial reconnaissance was started in 1957. Trips to observe the <br />flow of water at various points were also made in 1957. In the <br />summer of 1958, filing surveys were made for diversions of the <br />following streams: South Fork of the White River, Wagonwheel <br />Creek. Sweetwater Creek at elevation 9258, 'West Fork of Sweet- <br />water Creek. Turret Creek. and Sweetwater Creek at Sweetwater <br />Lake. 'These surveys were expanded to include suffici.ent detail to <br />permit making the preliminary estimate. The length of the tunnel <br />was determined by a telurorneter survey tying in the transit sur- <br />veys made in the South Forl~ and Sweetwater basins. Filing draw- <br />ings and estimates were made. The tracings of these drawings <br />were filed with the State Engineer and were accepted ay him on <br />April 1, 1959. <br /> <br />* * * * * <br /> <br />***** <br /> <br />10 <br />
