Fishing is undoubtedly <br />the ~ost popular attraction, but at 30me reservoirs--notably Lake Powell <br />w_just plain sightaeeing is a close second. Visitatio~ to Flaming <br />Gorge Lake "ent above ooe :n.11110o during 1967, and most of this was <br />packed into four warm months. At Glen CB.nyo~ IBm, the ne.... Carl Hayden <br />Visitor Center was fully opeoed to the public on Easter weekecd of <br />1968. Visitation a.t Glen Canyon aDd Lake Powell io 1968 appears to <br />be ruoning considerably higher than 1967, vhen nearly 600,000 visits <br />....ere recoroed. Blue Mesa Lake and :lavajo Lake continue to be popular <br />for boating and fishing. Participating project reservoirs, although <br />gene~ally much smaller than the giant storage reservoirs, provide good <br />fishing and recorded visits are also much higher ~o anticipated. <br /> <br />
