<br />COLORADO RIVER STORAGE PROJECT <br />AND <br />PARTICIPATING PROJECTS <br /> <br />LEGISLATIVE AUTHORIZATION <br />AND <br />REPORT REQUIREMENTS <br /> <br />The Colorado River Storage Project and eleven participating projects <br />were authorized by the Act of April 11, 1956 (70 st~t. 105); the San <br />Juan-Chama and Nav~jo Indian Irrigation Participating Projects were <br />authorized by the Act of June 13, 1962 (76 Stat. 96); and the Bostwick <br />Park, Fruitland Mesa, and Savery-Pot Hook Participating Projects were <br />authorized by the Act_of September 2~ 1964 (78 Stat. 852). <br /> <br />Section 6 of the Act of April 11, 1956 requires the Secretary of the <br />Interior to report to the Congress on January 1 of each year, for the <br />previous fiscal ye~r, upon the status of revenues from, and the cost <br />of, constructing, operating, and maintaining the Colorado River Stor- <br />age Project and participating projects. For construction and report <br />purposes, all transmission lines and substations have been admin- <br />istratively establishe<.l as a separate "Transmission Division." <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />On September 25, 1959, a recowmendation was made to the Congress <br />that construction of this project be deferred indefinitely. <br /> <br />Construction deferred indefinitely as suggested in Senate Subcom- <br />mittee appropriation hearinc;s for FY 1962. <br /> <br />JJ <br /> <br />-~ <br />
