Detailed information can be founded in the Final Report: Huron Recharge Project. A <br />copy of this report may be obtained by contacting the Director, Northern Great Plains Water <br />Resources Research Center, Box 2219, South Dakota State University, Brookings, South <br />Dakota 57007-0495; telephone: (60S) 688-6252 or E-mail: NGPWRRC@mg.sdstate.edu. <br /> <br />The project is one of 13 demonstration projects implemented by the Bureau of Reclamation <br />(Reclamation) and local sponsors in cooperation with the Environmental Protection Agency <br />(EPA) and the U.s. Geological Survey (USGS) under the '.High Plains States Groundwater <br />Demonstration Program Act of 1983'. Public Law 98-434. The primary purpose of the act <br />is to advance state-of-the-art groundwater recharge techniques. <br /> <br />The Huron Recharge Pr.oject was a cooperative effort between South Dakota State <br />University, the South Dakota District of USGS, the South Dakota Department of <br />Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the James River Water Development District, <br />the City of Huron, EP A, and Reclamation. Graduate research under the direction and <br />guidance of Northern Great Plains Water Resources Research Center staff provided a <br />significant amount of assistance in data collection and in technical interpretation related to <br />various aspects of the Huron Recharge Project. Project activities were conducted primarily <br />by the Northern Great Plains Water Research Center at South Dakota State University. <br />
