Studv

SeDlember 1995

ground water generally had pHs very close to neutral, with a few readings towards slightly
alkaline water. Specific conductance was generally comparable to the surface water adjacent to
the ground water monitoring point.

QAlQC Results

As required in the QNQC manual (JCHA, June 1994), duplicate samples, rinse blank samples
and field blank samples were obtained during each monthly sampling period. QNQC sample
analyses were conducted by Barringer Laboratory of Golden, Colorado.

Duplicate sample analyses are presented together in the data summaries (Appendices A, Band
C) and are identified by two samples with the same date, with the duplicate sample analysis
being bolded. The results of the duplicate sample analyses indicate a good correlation between
the separate laboratory results.

Rinse blanks were also obtained during each monthly sampling period to check field cleaning
techniques, and the results are presented in Table 5. As the rinse water was de-ionized water,
the results are expected to be non-detectable for the ions analyzed. As Table 5 shows, the
rinsing techniques being used are adequately cleaning the sample pump, as no analytes were
measured in any of the rinse blank samples taken during the study period.

Field blanks were also obtained during each monthly sampling period as a check on laboratory
cleaning procedures of sample bottles. Field blanks are filled with de-ionized water, and results
are expected to be non-detectable for the ions analyzed. As Table 5 shows, there has been
adequate bottle cleaning, as no analytes have been detected at any of the field blank samples
collected during the study period.

-12-
