III. COMPARISON OF STATE/REGIONAL FUTURE (SRF)
AND MODIFIED CENTRAL CASE (MCC)

Comparisons of the State-Regional Future (SRF) and Modified
Central Case (MCC) data can be made only by ASA's and Regions since
MCC data are only on that basis. All of the Rio Grande Region in
Colorado is in ASA 1301. The New Mexico Assessment area includes
ASA 1302 except for El Paso and Hudspeth Counties in Texas, plus
all of ASA 1304. Texas includes the two counties of El Paso and
Hudspeth in,ASA 1302, and all of ABA's 1303 and 1305. Future Na-
tional Water Assessments would be enhanced by including State data
in WRC summaries.

Data are not uniformly available from the three States of the
Region for comparison in table or figure summaries as provided by
WRC. Accordingly, the following Figures 1 through 4 include compar-
isons where data are available, and notations of "NA" are shown
where data are not available.

Data submitted by the States of New Mexico and Texas for por-
tions of ASA 1302 have been combined to prepare the State Regional
Future data used in Figures 1 through 4. All other ASA's in the
Rio Grande Region are within one State.

TIle water supply sumnaries both for the SRF and MCC compari-
sons in Figure 4 are based on the following equations:

(1) Depletions = Consumptive Use + Evaporation - Imports +
Exports.

(2) Natural Modified Flow = Present Modified Flow +
Depletions - Groundwater Withdrawals.

(3) Future Modified Flow = Natural Modified Flow _
Depletions + Groundwater Withdrawals.

;;- '"), '"' 1
,v _ I)

14
