<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />001882 <br /> <br />USES NAVAfO DAM TO FARMINGTON <br /> <br />DEMANDS THROUGH NAVAJO MAIN CANAL: <br /> <br />1. Navajo Indian Irrigation Project will divert 508,000 <br />acre-feet from Navajo Reservoir under full project <br />development. <br /> <br />2 . The Utah Construction Company has an application <br />for diversion of 55,000 acre-feet of industrial use <br />(Permit 2838, priority 2-28-55). Tentative plans call <br />for this water to be transported through the Navajo <br />Irrigation Project Canal System to the vicinity of Fruit- <br />land, New Mexico. <br /> <br />3. The City of Gallup, New Mexico also has filed a <br />"Notice of Intention" (4f2953), for the use of 15,000 <br />acre-feet for municipal and industrial uses. The <br />water will be transported through the main canal and <br />then in a pipe-line to the city facilities. <br /> <br />HAMMOND PROJECT: <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation has a Permit (2848) for 23,000 <br /> <br />acre-feet diversion for the Hammond Project. This permit was <br /> <br />assigned to the Department of the Interior by the State Engineer <br /> <br />Septemper 27, 1957. The Kutz Canyon Water Users Association has <br /> <br />assigned a part of its water and diversion right to the Hammond Project, <br /> <br />lowering the diversion demand to about 18,500 acre-feet (3,900 acres <br /> <br />at 4.75 acre-feet per acre) . <br /> <br />OPERATIONAL USES: <br /> <br />With the change in regimen of the San Juan River, due to the <br /> <br />effects of Navajo Dam, there will be an undetermined release of <br /> <br />-~ <br />22 <br />
