<br />week-end floods in Arizona have nearly completed their report. A 60-day

<br />'Teather station on Guadalupe Island in the Pacific Ocean off r.o-"er California.
<br />The jointly funded station on the Mexican-owned island is to make upper-air
<br />observations for improved l-1arnings of storms threatening Hexico and the
<br />United states.

<br />Establishment of specially trained end equipped air pollution meteorologist
<br />teams is planned for the Los Angeles and San Francisco areas by July 1971.
<br />These teams will provide expert weather advioe to pollution control agencies.
<br />The National Weather Service (Nlm) and the Environmental Protection Agency
<br />(EPA) cooperate in the air pollution progl'aJ1l. EPA provides technical and
<br />operational support to State and local air pollution oontrol agencies.
<br />Two separate and distinct se:rvices are rendered in eonneotiOl'1 w:i:bh. tho 'lWb=
<br />air pollution problelilS. Small scale observations and air pollution potential
<br />. advisories will be prOvided by the NlvS. The air quality forecasts are made by
<br />air pollution control agencies. A smaller scale operationl-1ill be established
<br />soon at Fresno and SaoraJ1lento. principally to provide ventilation forecasts
<br />for agricultural burning.
