Bultiple-purpose water resource <br /> <br /> <br />developaent being undertaken jointly by the United States and the <br /> <br /> <br />States of the basin. The Departlllents of the Interior and Aray share <br /> <br /> <br />sajor responsibilities for action programs at the Federal level. <br /> <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation haa been delegated a substantial portion <br /> <br /> <br />of the taak .aligned to the Secretary of the Interior. <br /> <br />The project conshta of about 150 divisions and unit. serving irrigation <br /> <br /> <br />and other purpose. along the aain stem and tributaries of the Missouri <br /> <br /> <br />River. The basin encampa.se. about one-fifth of the conterminous <br /> <br /> <br />United States and includes all or part of seven Reclamation States. <br /> <br /> <br />lncluded in the project for financial ~anagement and administration are <br /> <br /> <br />the uin-stem dama and powerp1ants conatructed by the Corps of Engineers, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />
