SbOll)), Governor of Colorado, Capitol Building, <br />Den\"er. <br /> <br />Sir: I have the honor to report that a compact he tween the <br />States of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, <br />Utah, and 'Vyoming, providing for the equitable division and <br />appol'tionmeut of the use of the waters of the Colorado River, <br />was signed at Santa Fe, New Mexico, November ::?4, 1922, bJ the <br />Commissioners for said States, nnd wns approved by the Honor- <br />able Herhert Hoover, Secretar;v of Commerce, I'epresentati\"e for <br />the United States of America upon said Commission" <br /> <br />I signed the compact as Commissioner for tbe State of Colo- <br />rado, by your appointment, under authority of Chapter ~4l;, Ses- <br />sion Laws, 1!)21, awl the Commissioners for the other States acted <br />under authority of similar legislation_ The Honorable Herbert <br />Hoover approved the compact, as the representative of the United <br />States, UI~der authority of the Act of Congress approved August <br />19. ]92'1 (42 Statutes at Large, page 171). <br /> <br />The compact was executed in a single original, which haR <br />heen deposited in the archives of tlJe Department of State of the <br />United States, and a duly certified copy has been forwarded to tbe <br />.Governor of each of the signatory States. It shall become bind- <br />ing and obligatorJ upon the signatories when approved by the <br />Legislature of each of said Stntes nnd by tbe Cougress of tbe <br />United States. <br /> <br />I tr3u:'lrnit herewith a copy of the compact.
