Cooperalive Studies and Activities <br /> <br />CaJ Article VUl G (I) of the Arkansas River Compact requires <br />the Administration to cooperate with the Chief Official of each <br />of the States of Colorado and Kansas charged with the admin- <br />istration of water rights in their respective States, and with <br />the Federal agencies in systema.tically determining and cor- <br />relaling the facts pertaining to the flow and diversion of the <br />waters of the Arkansas River and to the operation and silta- <br />tion of John Martin Reservoir and other related structures. <br />Article VIll G (2) requests the Director of the United States <br />Geological Survey, the Commissioner of the United States <br />Bureau of Reclamation, and the Chief of the Engineers, United <br />States Army, to cooperate and collaborate with the Adminis- <br />tration and with appropriate State officials in such determina- <br />tions and correlations of streamflow and related data. Under <br />the By-laws of the Administration, these cooperative studies <br />and activities are assigned to the Engineering Committee of <br />the Administration. <br /> <br />(b) During the year covered by this report the Administration has <br />received excellent cooperation from all agencies referred to <br />in the foregoing provtsions of the Compact. The United States <br />Geological Survey has continued the operation of the compact <br />gaging stations and the analyses and compilalion of the <br />hydrologic data presented in this report and used in the admin- <br />istration of the Compact. The Corps of Engineers continued to <br />ope-rate the conservation pool of John Martin Reservoir in ac- <br />cordance with the terms of the compact and the orders of the <br />Administration. <br /> <br />-8- <br />
