3021

rID 00 ill ~IJ

5.116 percent over the 50-year repayment period. In addition, allocated

annual OM&R costs will be paid by M&I users.

Based on the above repayment criteria, the annual charge for M&I water
woul d be about $240/acre-foot with or without flood control included in
the de'lelopment plan. Currently, reliable water rights along the Front
Range are sell i ng for approximately $200/acre-foot annual equival ent
cost. Therefore, it appears that inclusion of a M&I water supply in the
Narrows Unit would be financially feasible based on current conditions.
However, further study is required to refine the estimate of M&I needs.

Recreation and Fish and Wildlife

By a letter dated February 2, 1968, the State of Colorado has indicated
its intent to administer the land and water areas for recreation and
fi sh and wil dl ife enhancement and to repay reimbursable costs. For
recreation, one-half of the separable investment costs, or about
$5.3 mi 11 ion, is reimbursable wi th interest. For fi sh and wil dl i fe
enhancement, one-fourth of the separable in'lestment costs, or about
$743,000 is reimbursable with interest. These amounts include interest
during construction at 5.116 percent and would be the same under
development with or without a flood control purpose. In addition
to the above reimbursements, the State of Colorado would be responsible
for payment of annual separable OM&R costs for the two purposes.

Flood Control and Highway Improvement

The costs allocated to these purposes are nonreimbursable.

14
