Commercial power is not included

in the allocations since it is not an authorized purpose and is not

economically feasible.

Repayment

The water supply for repayment purposes includes the water to be
acquired from the Weldon Valley Canal which would be inundated by the
reservoi r. Therefore, there woul d. be a total water supply of
133,000 acre-feet available for repayment purposes (102,000 acre-feet
provi ded by the project and the 31,000 acre-feet acqui red from Wel don
Va 11 ey Canal).

Irrigation

Irrigation repayment will be based on a water supply of 108,000 acre-
feet annually.

The Lower South Platte and the Cent~al Colorado Water Conservancy
Di stricts have both entered into repayment contracts with the United
States to repay an appropriate share ofithe allocated irrigation costs.
Any modification in the amount to be repaid will necessitate negotiation
of the contracts.

Irrigation payment capacity has been indexed to reflect January 1981

pr-ice levels. The full payment capacity, would pay allocated annual OM&R

costs for Narrows Dam and Reservoir and repay a part of the all ocated

irrigation construction obl igations. Table 5 shows that an estimated

$8.40/acre-foot is available for constru~tion cost repayment.

12
