<br /> <br />The ~ater destined for all States but ~ebraskd could be conveyed <br />directly from Lake Francis Cas~ to the vicinity of Bonny Reservoir. <br />Within the State of ~ebraskd, however, there are some areas of water <br />denand that must be served by side canals from the main canal route. <br /> <br />The total onfar~ water demand for ~ebraska ~as developed by the <br />Institute of Agriculture and ~atural Resources of the University of <br />~ebrdska. The State total was divided i~to five regions. Some of <br />these regions contained more than one potential service area. It was <br />necessary to allocate the ~ebraska demand tn individual service areas <br />based on the relative size of the ground water decline areas and the <br />number of irrigatlon wells. as well as through consultation with the <br />~ebraska ~RC. The location of ground water declines and irrigation <br />wells in Nebraska as of 1 January 1981 are shown in figure 5.
