The Fort l\'on Canal Company is a corporation organized by the l<lndO\vners of that portion of the Arkansas vallev north ot the Arkansas River in southern Colorado, whose I.lnds are irrigated chieil)' by an old canal jrom the Arkansas River, 113 miles in length, knO\\n as the Fort Lvon Canal. supplemented by reservoirs fed bv more recentl\' constructed canals conduCling flood waters of the ri\er and tributaries to these reservoirs. It is a mutual company, whose sole object is to conserve and distribute the .1\'ailable water supply to the lands of its stockholders, and is not conducted for speculation or profit.
