This includes the <br />All-American Canal, Imperial Dam works transferred to the Dist r Ie t, <br />and the All-American Canal drains. <br /> <br />Mr. H. B. Sheldon, Superintendent, River Division, <br />All-American Canal Section <br /> <br />Mr. Sheldon is in charge of the O&M of <br />Headworks, Desilting Basins, Imperial Dam <br />Canal, and drains maintained by the District <br />including Pilot Knob Check and Wasteway. <br />residence are in the Imperial Dam Camp. <br /> <br />the All-American Canal <br />Camp, the All-American <br />from Imperial Dam to and <br />His headquarters and <br /> <br />Mr. C. W. Montana, Assistant Superintendent, <br />River Division, All-American Canal Section <br /> <br />Mr. Montana assists the Superintendent, River Division, in the <br />operation of the Division. He takes the place of the Superintendent <br />during his absence and supervises the work of the headworks operators, <br />hydrographers, and other employees in the Division. <br /> <br />The District's personnel for the River Division, in addition to <br />Mr. Sheldon and Mr. Montana, are two hydrographers, four headworks <br />operators, one clerk, six basin operators, one working foreman <br />(basins), one trashrack operator, one electrician, one leadman <br />construction and maintenance, three construction and maintenance men, <br />two mechanics (equipment maintenance), and one yardman. There is a <br />total of 26 employees. For engineering services, heavy maintenance, <br />or any other work for which personnel in the River Division are not <br />available, services or crews and equipment are furnished by the <br />District Headquarters, Imperial, California. <br /> <br />2. Operations, General <br /> <br />Normal O&M were performed by the Imperial Irrigation District's forces <br />on works transferred to the District in accordance with provisions of <br />the All-American Canal Contract dated December I, 1932, and <br />Supplemental Contract Ilr-747 dated March 4, 1952. <br /> <br />Seepage water from Senator Wash Reservoir continued to flow into the <br />seepage pond adjacent to the All-American Canal Desilting Basins. <br />This water is pumped directly into the All-American Canal at a rate of <br />between 10 and 20 ds. The salinity of this water varied between <br />1,070 and 1,410 parts per million Cp/m). <br /> <br />3. All-American Canal Headworks <br /> <br />Operation of the All-American Canal trashrack was normal for the year. <br />The trashrack was operated as necessary to keep the trashrack clean. <br />The trash and log load continued to be heavy during high riverflows. <br /> <br />7 <br />
