1.0 INTROOUCTION

This report summarizes Saline Water Transport and Use Office planning
and related activities on the AQUATRAIN Project for the previous
month and anticipated activities for the next 2 months. The purpose
of the report is to inform individuals involved with AQUATRAIN
of current and upcoming activities so that a coordinated effort
can be maintained and project flag dates met.

2.0 SUBTEAM: WATER RIGHTS/WATER SUPPLY/STATE ISSUES (Sturges-Murray)
2.1 OCTOBER EVENTS

Briefed the Seven State Salinity Control Forum Work Group
in San Francisco, October 3-5. The group was informed that
they will be notified of the sale of Aquatrain, Inc., by
W.R. Grace & Co. to an unnamed entity when the transaction
occurs. Clinton told the group that when the new owners
are identified, Reclamation will begin a review process
with the Forum to decide if the parties wish to go forward
together.

Briefed the Energy and Natural Resources Study Commitee
and the Transportation and Public Safety Study Committee
of the Utah State Legislature on October 19.

Briefed New Mexico Stage Legislators Interim Committee on
October 27.

As a part of the impending ownership change, Ms. Elizabeth
Sturges-Murray has elected to leave the AQUATRAIN Project.
Her many contributions helped the project get started.
We will miss her.

2.2 ANTICIPATED NOVEMBER EVENTS

Brief Rifle Ski Association in Oenver, November 3.

Attend the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum Meeting
in Phoenix, Arizona, November 7-8.

Brief Utah State legislators in Salt Lake City, November 16.

Attend 50th Anniversary Meeting, Wyoming Water Oevelopment
Association in Casper, Wyoming, November 21.

2.3 ANTICIPATED DECEMBER EVENTS

Attend Colorado River Water Users Association meeting in
Las Vegas, December 7-9.
