At the end of the study two transmitters
were still functioning, both fish were located upstream of the release site.

Table 3. This intensive tracking consisted of hourly triangulations,
typically commencing at 1600 hours and continuing through 0800 hours. These
intensive tracking efforts occurred on eight occasions between March 26, 1998
and August 6, 1998. Due to the proximal location of bonytails, it was possible to
track more than one fish through a night on several occasions; Eight of the ten
bonytail were intensively tracked at least one time, several as many as three times
(refer to table 3). Habitat use, general movement and diel activity will be
analyzed and reported in a project final report.

VII. Recommendations:

Stock the balance of the 1998 cohort in the spring of 1999. Begin sampling for
stocked fish soon after this spring release. Place greater emphasize on
electrofishing as a sampling techniques to recapture bonytails. .

Continue radio telemetry efforts on the Colorado River. Obtain aerial imagery of
the Dewey bridge area on the Colorado River to serve as a base map for radio
telemetry efforts in the future. In the SOW there is mention ofradio telemetering
adult sized roundtail chubs to detennine resource overlap with the stocked
bonytails. To date collections of wild roundtail chubs large enough to implant

25-5
