The changes expected in <br />the future land use stem from irrigating the irrigable land present- <br />~ dry farmed. <br /> <br />Crop Yields and Practices <br /> <br />Crop yields used in farm budget studies.are based upon <br />historical records from Morgan, Logan, and Sedgwick counties; the <br />Colorado-Big Thompson Project; and yields reported in the 1964 <br />farm survey of the North Sterling area and are presented in table 21. <br />Historical data on yields for Washington County were excluded be- <br />cause of the relative~ small amount of project land in the county. <br /> <br />As a result of the farm survey, it was concluded that sugar <br />beets and dry beans in most cases were receiving an adequate water <br />supp~. Alfalfa is short watered first, followed by corn for <br />silage and grain. Therefore, increased yields for alfalfa and <br />corn would be realized with an additional water su:p:p~. Re:payment <br />and benefit yields are based on historical data but are :projected to <br />1970 for the repayment ana~sis and to 1985 for the benefit ana~sis. <br /> <br />Seeding rates developed for this ana~sis are the average <br />rates obtained from farm interviews in the North Sterling area <br />and are presented below.
