<br />ANNUAL IIEPORT FOR 1965 <br /> <br />THE GREAT PLAINS RESERVOIRS AND CANALS <br /> <br />The June fiood also caused extensive damage on this portion <br />01 your system, The Kicking Bird Canal had eight major breaks and <br />several minor ones. These were repaired and two new spillways <br />sections were constructed to possibly alle,,'iate the pressure of sudden <br />run off from the nonnallY dry creeks In this area. A large drop 'on the <br />Comanche Canal was washed out. A concrete wing wall 20 feet in <br />height was extended 25 leet in length to prevent lurther erosion. A <br />vinyl seep curtain was installed above the drop to cut 011 under Claw. <br /> <br />.The Kicking Bird, Satanta, Pawnee, and Comanche Canals were <br />all cleaned with dragllne or dozer during the year. <br /> <br />WATER DIVERTED FROM TIlE FT. The machine Is now six years old <br />and will require more expensive maintenance as time goes on. <br />The TD - 15 dozer has been used on major projects durlIW the <br />year. It has requIred some repair but Is In good condition. <br />The TD - 18 dozer and carry -all were used In repairing canal <br />breaks and maintenance operations.
