<br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br />~ <br /> <br />A more detailed description of the proposed hydrologic operations is <br />presented in the Upper Colorado Region 13(a) Assessment Report. <br />Such a description is not repeated here because the EET development <br />was limited to the Upper Region. Identification of changes in water <br />quantity and quality and time of occurrence at the compact point are <br />the major inputs for this analysis. The CRSS model was used to <br />estimate resultant Lower Region changes for years annually from 1979 <br />through 2000. The target years selected for evaluation are 1985 <br />and 2000. <br /> <br />IMPACTS <br /> <br />Economic, environmental, and social impacts were evaluated for <br /> <br />projected quantity and quality changes in the hydrology of the Lower <br />Colorado River for years 1985 and 2000. Changes in water quantity, <br /> <br />which have obvious impacts on power generation and agricultural <br /> <br />water supplies, also affect water quality. With less water entering <br />the Lower Region, the dilution effect will be reduced and salt <br /> <br />concentration will increase. Changes in water quality, which were <br /> <br />limited to increases in salinity, will impact on all Lower Region <br /> <br />users. <br /> <br />The reduced amount of water entering the Lower Region at the compact <br /> <br />point, the reductions in water delivered to the Central Arizona <br /> <br />Project, and increases in salinity from Upper Region EET development <br /> <br /> <br />are presented in table 1.
