<br />Lake Havasu [Colorado River] <br /> <br /> <br />UrbanIzation contrastll with. dMert and aorlculturalland. <br /> <br />Waler Year 1982 <br />At the beginnIng of water year 1962, the water <br />level of Lake Havasu, Impounded by Parkar <br />Dam I was at elevation 447 teet with an active <br />storage of approxImately 569,000 acre-feet. <br />The reservoIr was drawn down to <br />approximately elevation 445 feet, with an <br />active storage of about 530,000 acre-feet In <br />March to provide vacant space for runoff from <br />the drainage area between DavIs and Parker <br />Dams. The water level was then raIsed to an <br />approximate elevation of 450 'eet by the end <br />of May, with an active storage of about <br />622,000 acre-feet. By the end of the water <br />year I Lake Havasu was drawn down to aoout <br />447 feet with an active storage of 560,000 <br />acre-fe~t. <br /> <br />Water Year 1983 <br />Lake Havasu Is scheduled at the highest levels <br />consistent with the requirements lor <br />maIntaining reservoir regulation space. The <br />yearly low elevation at approximately 446 feet <br />\s scheduled fOf the November through <br />February high flood hazard period, The <br />yearly high of about 450 feet Is acheduled for <br />the low flood hazard months of May and June. <br />During water year 1983, 8 total of <br />approxlmalely 6,8 million acre-feet Is <br />scheduled to be released from La.ke Havasu to <br />meet all downstream requirements. <br /> <br />.Durlng the water.year, approxlma1ely <br />6,371,000 acre-feet were released at Parker <br />Dam, sll of which passed through the turbines <br />for power production.
