Mr. Holburt is California's representative <br />on the Group, and is also a member of the staff <br />which was fonned to coordinate the activities <br />of subsidiary work groups, implement policy, <br />consolidate and coordinate budgets and work <br />plans, review appendices, schedule work, etc. <br /> <br />The 1967 National Assessment <br /> <br />The \Varer Resources Council is required by <br />PL 89-80 to prepare biannually, assessments of <br />rhe adequacy of water supplies to meet require- <br />ments in cach water resource region of the <br />United States, The initial assessment for the Pa- <br />cific-Southwest was begun in early 1967. <br />Successive drafts of the Pacific Southwest <br />chapters were prepared by the corresponding <br />state-federal interagency groups and were dis- <br />tributed to all agencies concerned, beginning in <br />May 1967. The Board staff reviewed the drafts <br />and submitted comments as deemed necessary to <br /> <br />23 <br />
