The automation system
(SCADA) will be constructed in FY 2002 and the Highline Lake pumping plant will be
constructed in FY 2003. Total out year cost: $1,427,800.

C-14 CAP/9403: Coordinated Reservoir Operations (CWCB, $0) (See PIP-12c)

94/C-24 CAP/980 I: Duchesne River Coordinated Reservoir Operations (BR, $10,000)

Completion of identification and evaluation of opportunities to coordinate operations of
various reservoirs in the Duchesne River Basin with the goal of delivering water to the
lower Duchesne River to improve important habitat for Colorado pikeminnow and
razorback sucker. Total out year cost: $0

84. HMG/970 I: Duchesne River Biological Studies (FWS, UDWR $0)

Completion ofreport providing biological (fish distribution and relative abundance) and
physical-habitat (channel morphology and maintenance) data for testing and/or
refinement of the existing preliminary flow recommendations for the Duchesne River to
facilitate recovery of the endangered fishes. Total out year cost: $0.

85. HMG/90--: Basinwide Channel and Sediment Monitoring

The channel monitoring program supports Recovery Program efforts to develop flow
recommendations, restore flooded bottom lands, and monitor the physical conditions of
the rivers in the Upper Colorado River Basin.

85a. Mainstem Colorado (FWS, CU $0) - Completion of report on sediment transport and
channel dynamics in the 15- and 18-mile reaches of the upper Colorado River and the
geomorphic effects of coordinated reservoir releases. Total outyear cost: $0.

85b. Yampa and Green River sediment monitoring (FWS, USGS $71,000) - Standardized
monitoring of sediment load (suspended and bed) and bed material in the Yampa and
Green Rivers to determine effects of flows and help define habitat requirements. Total
out year cost: $71,000.

85c. Upper Colorado River Channel Monitoring (FWS, $19,800) - Monitoring depth-to-
embeddedness and invertebrate biomass at each of 16 sites along the Colorado River in
the Grand Valley. Total out year cost: $147,700.

C-3
