Water Riqhts: - <br />Acquired by application to State Engineer as prescribed by law, timely <br />development of necessary facilities and application of water to bene- <br />ficial use within a reasonable time. <br /> <br />2. Compacts:- <br />Belle Fourche River Compact, 1943 - Recognizes all existing rights <br />as of date of compact, authorizes unlimited use for stock water res- <br />ervoirs not to exceed 20 acre-feet capacity and allows Wyoming to <br />deplete unappropriated flows b~ additional 10'. <br /> <br />Upper Niobrara River Compact, 1962 - Wyoming not restricted on stock <br />water reservoirs noe exceeding 20 acre-teet capacity'. No restrictions <br />on diversion or storage in Wyoming ~est of R.62W. and Van Tassel Creek, <br />south or Section 27, T.J2N., R.60W. Direct diversions to the east <br />regulated on interstate priority basis. <br /> <br />Yellowstone River Compact, 1950 - Compact deals basically with dividing <br />waters of the four tributaries to the Yellowstone River; existing <br />rights as of January 1, 1950, maintained--remainder divided, Clarks <br />Fork - Wyoming 60*, Montana 40', Bighorn River (exclusive of Little <br />Bighorn River) - W~oming 80~, Montana 20', Tongue River - Wyoming <br />40', Montana 60', Powder River (including Little Powder River) - <br />Wyoming 42', Montana 58t. Other provisions - out o~ Basin diversion <br />without all signator~ states approval prohibited; domestic and stock <br />water uses exempted from compact provisions. <br /> <br />3. Court Decrees <br />Laramie River,'1957, Supreme Court of the United State. - The net <br />effect of the decree as so modified from time to time is to apportion <br />the waters of the Laramie River between Wyoming and Colorado so that <br />each year Colorado appropriators ma~ divert in the aggregate ]9,750 <br />acre-feet of ~ater, leaving to Wyoming the remaining flow of the <br />Laramie River and its Colorado tributaries. <br /> <br />North Platte River, 1952, Supreme Court of the United States - Modifies <br />and supplements existing Decree of October 8, 1945, stipulating con- <br />ditions for division and use of waters of North Platte River between <br />the States of Colorado, Nebraska and Wyoming and adds new Articles <br />with respect to construction and operation of Glenda Reservoir. <br /> <br />8J<{~' W'j""" loJ"i <br />
