Active standing
committees are the standing committees on Comprehensive Planning, Exchange of
Program Information, and Environmental Resources. The overall functional
charges to these committees are listed in Appendix 1.

Ad hoc committees may be appointed on a short-term basis to deal with special
transitory technical and policy problems. An ad hoc committee on the 1975
Assessment was formed at the April 1972 meeting and was composed of members from
each Federal and State agency. The ad hoc committee on the 1975 Assessment was
given standing committee status as the Comprehensive Planning Committee in
anticipation of continuing activity.

., .

2

-,
. ,

\
'.1.,\'."
