Inflow
into Fontenelle is about 600 cfs and the elevation is about 6488 feet. Releases will likely remain
near 1400 cfs through the winter period. The goal will be to maintain stable releases during this
period and also to draw down the reservoir to elevation 6463,5 feet by April I, 1998 in
anticipation of the 1998 runoff season.

FLAMING GORGE - Releases from Flaming Gorge are now steady at 3000 cfs with no hour to
hour fluctuations. Releases, were reduced on December 25 to 3000 cf (from 3400 cfs)

Releases will likely remain at 3000 cfs through the first week of January. At this time, the
National Weather Service will issue an inflow forecast for Flaming Gorge. Further reductions in
releases are likely to occur in early January based on the magnitude of this forecated inflow.
Snowpack in the Upper Green River Basin is currently only 67 percent of average (1/5/1998).

Open forum discussions on Flaming Gorge operations have been taking place at meetings of the
"Flaming Gorge Working Group". The next Working Group meeting is scheduled for January 15
at I I am in Vernal, Ut. For more information on the Working Group, contact Ed Vidmar at
801-379-1000.

ASPINALL - December unregulated inflow into Blue Mesa was 31,000 acre-feet or about 120
percent of average. Currently the inflow rate into Blue Mesa Reservoir is averaging about 500
cfs, Blue Mesa's current elevation is 7487.7 feet with a storage content of 564,000 acre-feet.
