002u86 JlD3D CONGRESS }, { 1st Session HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES REPORT 103-181 COLORADO WILDERNESS ACT OF 1993 JULY 19, 1993.-Committed to the Committee of the Whole House on the State of the Union and ordered to be printed Mr. MILLER of California, from the Committee on Natural Resources, submitted the following REPORT [To accompany H.R. 631] [Including cost estimate of the Congressional Budget Office] The Committee on Natural Resources, to whom was referred the bill (H.R. 631) to designate certain lands in the State of Colorado as components of the National Wilderness Preservation System, and for other purposes, having considered the same, r6yort favor- ably thereon with an amendment and recommend that the bill as amended do pass. The amendment is as follows: Strike out all after the enacting clause and insert in lieu thereof the following: SECTION 1. SHORT TITLJ: AND DEFINlTIONS. (a) SHORT TITLE.-This Act may be cited as the "Colorado Wilderness Act of 1993". (b) DEFINITlONS.--{l) As used in this Act with reference to lands in the National Forest System, the term "the Secretary" means the Secretary of Agriculture. (2) As used in this Act with respect to lands not in the National Forest System, the term "the Secretary" means the Secretary of the Interior. BEC. 2. ADDmONS TO THE WILDERNESS PRESERVATION SYSTEM. (a) ADDITIONS.-The following lands in the State of Colorado are hereby des- ignated as wilderness and, therefore, as components of the National Wilderness Preservation System: (1) Certain lands in the Gunnison Resource Area administered by the Bureau of Land Management which comprise approximately 3,390 acres, as generally depicted on a map entitled "Americsn Flats Additions to the Big Blue Wilder- ness Proposal (A,,'nerican Flats)", dated Janua.......f, 1993, and which are hereby in~ corporated in and shall be deemed to be a part of the wilderness area des- '39--000
