The earth
dam for the City of Englewood was
designed by the Denver-based firm;
the project design was by W. W.
Wheeler and Associates, Denver.

WESTMINSTER, COLORADO

Originally built in 1910, the City of
Westminster dam at Standley lake was
reconstructed in 1965 with the new
dam located on the downstream slope
of the existing structure. Some crack-
ing of the new embankment resulted
from settlement caused by wetting of
certain areas of the old dam for the
first time. The firm provided investiga-
tions and stability studies, monitored
movements and provided consultation
on the structure's safety.
