<br />Crop production data show substantial variation over a period
<br />of time due to market price changes, climatic conditions, availability
<br />of irrigation water, and other factors. Agricultural statistics for
<br />Colorado are publJi,shed annually, and thes,e data have been sunnnarized ,
<br />for Boulder County. The most recent 10-year period of analysis;
<br />(1955-1964) shows that irrigated cropland harvested averaged 54,713 acres!:
<br />annually. Details of the crop distribution, crop production, and average!
<br />yields are presented in table 10.

<br />Within the boundaries of St. Vrain Creek basin, there are about
<br />100 mountain lakes and reservoirs and about 70 lakes and reservoirs
<br />located on the plains that. are named on U. S. Geological Survey
<br />quadrangle maps. In addition, there are countless unnamed lakes and
<br />ponds which are used in varying degrees for irrigation. The four
<br />largest reservoirs are: Gross, 43,000 ac.-ft.; Union, 13,200 ac.-ft.;
<br />Boulder, 12,800 ac.-ft.; and Barker, 11,700 ac.-ft. Many of the
<br />reservoirs are multi-purpose in that they are used for recreation, fish
<br />and wildlife, municipal water, and irrigation.
