<br />C?>~~ . <br /> <br />Varnlints <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Varlnints present in the area are coyote, red fox, bobcat, raccoon, <br /> <br />jack rabbit, rock squirrel, prairie dog and marmot. <br /> <br />The'exist in a variety <br /> <br />of habitat throughout the area. <br /> <br />The lTIOSt C0l11mon are coyote, jackrabbit, <br /> <br />rock squirrel and marmot. <br /> <br />A few bobcat are trapped for their fur and <br /> <br />frequent the lower elevations along canyon rims and broken terrain. <br /> <br />Raccoons <br /> <br />are scarce but prefer habitat along strean, bottoms at lower elevations. <br /> <br />Some prairie dog colonies exist on rangeland at lower elevations. <br /> <br />Non game Mammals <br /> <br />Non gan,e mammals present include pika" northern pocket gopher, <br /> <br />golden,mantled ground squirrel, Richardson's ground squirrel, least <br /> <br />chipmunk, Uinta chipmunk, bushy- tailed wood rat. Gapper' s red- backed <br /> <br />vole, heather vole, montaine vole, long-tailed vole, sagebrush vole, deer <br /> <br />monse, northern grasshopper mouse, western jumping rnouse, tnasked shre\v, <br /> <br />wandering shrew, water shrew, long-eared myotis, long,legged myotis <br /> <br />and Townsend's big-eared bat. <br /> <br />These species are distributed widely throughout the area in a variety of <br /> <br />habitat. <br /> <br />Pikas are common to the alpine areas and n,ost of the other <br /> <br />rodents prefer parks, meadows or open rangeland. <br /> <br />Migratory and Non game Birds <br /> <br />Migratory game birds which visit the area during the warmer months <br /> <br />are waterfowl, including ducks, geese and shorebirds; mourning dove and <br /> <br />,6- <br />
