FOREWORD

.

This DIRECTORY of Members and Administrative Personnel of participating
States and Federal agencies in the MISSOURI BASIN INTER-AGENCY COMMITTEE
FISCAL YEAR 1962, has been prepared as an aid to the Committee in carrying
out its responsibilities as defined in the MBIAC Charter, dated 'November 16,
1954, which sets forth in paragraph 2, PURPOSE, the following:

It is the purpose of this agreement to provide in the Missouri River
region improved facilities and procedures for the coordination of the
policies, programs and activities of the Departments of the 'Interior;
COllmlerce; Labor; Agriculture; Health-, Education, and Welfare; and the
Army; the Federal Power Commission; and the States in the field of wa-
ter and related land resources investigation, planning, construction,
operation, and maintenance; to provide means by which conflicts may be
resolved; and to provide procedures for coordination of their interests
with those of other Federal, local governmental, and private agencies
in ,the water and related land res~urces field.

This Charter was prepared pursuant to the 'In,ter-Agency Agreement on Coordina-
tion of Water and Related Land Resources Activities, approved by the Presi-
dent on May 26,1954.
