In Appendices 2A through 2K of this
study, a detailed description of each water provider's current water rights and water
management strategies is described. Future water projections by source have been prepared
to identifY how much each district might rely on the available water sources. Each district's
reliance on non-tributary ground water pumping has been identified separately. This
information was used to determine regional ground water declines over the study period so
pumping heads and well productivity could be estimated. This information is used to project
future capital needs and operating costs for the districts if they rely on locally available
water resources. This also provides a benchmark against which the economics of alternative
water management strategies will be compared.

A review of historic water use patterns identifies the distribution of water demands
throughout the year. This distribution is seen in Figure 2.5 and represents the composite
averages of historic water demands for Centennial, ECCV, Stonegate, Castle Rock, and the
Pinery. This distribution of water demands is assumed to be representative of future water
use patterns as well, and was used to assess water demands throughout the year in this study.

Figure 2.5
Annual Water Demand Distribution

18 .
" 16
..
S 14 .
QI
Q
'OJ 12
"
" 10
"
-<
... 8
0
QI 6
ClIl
"
-
" 4
QI
"
..
QI 2
~
0

Jan Feb Mar Apr May June July Aug Sept Oct Nav Dec
Month

Page 2-10
