. . -3- 304'1 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE PRO- POSED NARROWS DAM PROJECT , The matter of the proposed construction of the Narrows Dam project on the South Platte River has been discussed before the City Council, and after considera. tion of the issues and problems raised by such project the Council has gone on record as follows: 1. That construction of said project as nO'N proposed does not appear to be economically feasible and will be expensive and costly beyond ;;Ill possible benefits to be derived therefrom. 2. That flood control projects on the upper branches of such creeks or streams as the Bijou or Kiowa are desirable and that any proposed construction for the purpose of flood control be confined to the upper reaches of streams tributary to the South Platte Hi ver. ' 3. That no appropriation of waters should ever be adjudicated to such a proje~::,: and that to do so might detrimentally affect the rights of the City of Greeley an 0, GGher water users. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THECCITY OF GREELEY, COLORAfJC. 1. That the City Council of the City of Greeley, Colorado is opposed to the construction, as now conceived and plalned, of the proposed Narrows Dam project on the South Platte River.
