Big <br /> <br />Thompson streamflow, therefore, dictates the quantity of water available to <br /> <br />the City from its own direct-flow rights and from City ownership in <br /> <br />irrigation and ditch companies diverting from the Big Thompson River. <br /> <br />As discussed earlier in Section 2.1, the methodology employed in this study <br /> <br />included supplementing the historic record of Big Thompson streamflow <br /> <br />through use of statistical correlation techniques. These techniques are <br /> <br />illustrated in the following example: <br /> <br />4.1 EXAMPLE OF DATA AUGHENTATION PROCEDURE <br /> <br />Annual streamflow records are available for two streams in hydrologically <br /> <br />similar watersheds. The Veather Service also maintains a weather station <br /> <br />nearby which records annual rainfall.
