That is, about 2.5 times the 40 acre-feet. or about 100 acre-

feet. will be recharged during the early season when water is available to

allow for late-season pumping. Table 12 shows a proposed schedule of

future demand and consumption. and recharge volumes and rates proposed to

offset pumping.

Shallow Wells

Wells tapping the shallow. unconfined aquifer will provide a supplemental

water supply source for the golf course. and will supply water to the

other facilities that are planned. Well permit applications for four well

sites were approved by the State Engineer's Office on October 31. 1988.

The proposed well sites are shown on Figure 4, and copies of the approved

permits are in Appendix E.

The proposed wells are permitted to pump up to 1.500 gallons per minute.

Based on the projected water demand shown in Table 1. average water demand

in the late season may be as much as 265 gal10ns per minute and peak

demand could be expected to be two to three times thst rate.

Existing well locations are also shown on Figure 4. Under the

augmentation plan. water may be withdrawn from these wells for uses at

the facilities. country club, and/or residences.

COI'CLUSIOR

Rocky Hountain Bison, Inc. will develop a golf course and associated
facilitiu on lands formerly irrigated on the Zapata Ranch. Consumptive
water requirements and irrigated lands for the proposed development will
be balanced by historic consumpt ive use cred i t from lands former ly
irrigated with senior surface water rights.

Water supply for the new golf course. as well as for pasture lands that
will continue to be irrigated, will be provided principally through

- 24 -
