Assuming an additional 5 percent consumptive loss to spray application and a 75 percent application efficiency. the irrigation application rate i. estimated to be about 2 feet per year. Total irrigation requirement for the golf course and country club is estimated at about 175 acre-feet per year. and is broken down on a monthly basis as shown in Table 1. Pond Evaporation Several ponds are proposed as part of the golf course and country club. and an outdoor swimming pool will be part of the health spa facility. An estimated 5 acres of water surface area will be exposed. resulting in an evaporative water loss. Evaporation loss in the vicinity of Zapata Ranch is estimated to be about 2.5 feet per year. distributed relatively uniformly through the period when the golf course is open, April 16 through October 31. Total annual evaporation requirement is estimated to be 12.5 acre-feet. as shown in Table 1.
